Another important detail is that the academic year is not a single calendar year. In Ethiopia, the university year usually starts around September and ends the following year, so the year overlaps two calendar years. For that reason, it should be represented as something like 2025–2026, rather than just 2025 or 2026. For example, a club might have one president and leadership team during the 2025–2026 academic year, and they might submit several event proposals during that time. In the next academic year, 2026–2027, the leadership may change and the club will have a completely different set of proposals and results. So for analytics, we need to treat each club’s activity per academic year as its own record. This way, proposals, approvals, rejections, and other statistics are calculated within the context of that specific academic year. The director page will then display the status and analytics of each club based on the academic year, so the data from different years does not get mixed together.
